Hurricane Ike now moving north-northwest

Hurricane Ike looked earlier to be taking a more northward track on radar imagery.  It then seemed to make the northwest correction but now it appears the correction was temporary.  Ike looks to be moving more north-northwest across Galveston Bay into Liberty County over the next several hours.  This would be the western part of the eyewall (which has seen a very intense – the most intense burst of convection yet visible on radar) over the eastern portion of Houston; primarily the port and refinery areas.  It now seems likely Ike will track up the Hwy 59 corridor  for at least the next 12 hours before making a turn to the north and northeast.

This is my personal forecast; the forecast by the NWS and NHC are the only ones you should follow closely.
