Edzani is near peak intensity, according to the latest forecast.  Gradual weakening is forecast as the cyclone passes over cooler waters.

An upper-level ridge is steering Edzani gradually west-southwestward.  At the end of the forecast period, Edzani is expected to begin feeling the steering flow of an approaching upper-level trough which will take it more south-westward.
