Tropical Depression Nine to threaten the southeast next week

Tropical Depression Nine, originally a large wave that moved off Africa earlier last week, has finally developed in the central Atlantic.  TD Nine is forecast to become a hurricane in about three days as it moves north of the Leeward Islands.

Some forecast models are trying to pull what will become Hurricane Ike north and recurve far away from the continental U.S.  However, the more reliable ones are calling for a path similar to what you see above with a potential threat in about a week to the southeast coast.
