The National Hurricane Center’s latest advisory on Tropical Storm Hanna has the storm becoming a hurricane before delivering a glancing blow to the Jacksonville, Florida area then moving north making landfall just south of Charleston, South Carolina.

Hanna is being hit hard by shear today but that is forecast to decrease by tonight allowing Hanna the opportunity to explode provided her structure doesn’t break up too significantly.  Nonetheless, Hanna is likely to cause concern for an extremely large stretch of coastline.  After landfall, the storm is expected to bring gale-force conditions, predominantly on the east side of the storm, as it races northward from North Carolina through New England.
